Equivalent to approximately $40.94 per day ($573.20 ÷ 14 days).
Young people on the special rate living at home receive $573.20 per fortnight ($40.94 per day) — significantly more than the standard at-home rate. The special rate applies where living at home would cause severe financial difficulty, family breakdown, or similar circumstances. Youth Allowance is indexed on 1 January each year — the next increase takes effect 1 January 2027.
