About MyPaymentRates.com.au
Why this site exists
Finding the current rate for a Centrelink payment should be simple. It isn't. Services Australia's website is designed for applications and compliance, not quick rate lookups. Third-party sources are frequently inaccurate, months out of date, or buried under advertising.
MyPaymentRates.com.au was built to fill that gap by David Gor, a Brisbane-based researcher and web developer. Beyond the rates themselves, this site offers two things you won't find on Services Australia: interactive calculators that estimate your actual payment based on your income, rent, and circumstances, and plain-English explainers covering how Centrelink indexation works — why rates change, when they change, and by how much. Independent of Services Australia.
How rates are verified
All rates are cross-referenced against the DSS A Guide to Australian Government Payments PDF and Services Australia's published rate tables before publication. Each page shows a last verified date and links directly to the official source.
We do not publish rates from memory, extrapolation, or unverified third-party sources. If a rate cannot be confirmed against an official DSS or Services Australia publication, it is not published.
Update commitment
Centrelink rates are indexed on three dates each year:
- 20 March — pensions, JobSeeker, Parenting Payment, Rent Assistance
- 20 September — same payments as March
- 1 January — some Youth Allowance and student payment thresholds
Rates on this site are updated on each indexation date, and whenever Services Australia publishes out-of-cycle changes. The last updated date shown on each page reflects when that specific rate was last verified.
