Partnered recipients on the special rate receive $740.90 per fortnight ($52.92 per day). The special partnered rate applies in circumstances such as family breakdown or severe financial difficulty that prevent the usual living arrangement. Youth Allowance is indexed on 1 January each year — the next increase takes effect 1 January 2027.
Special rates apply to students in specific circumstances — for example, where living at home causes severe financial difficulties or family breakdown.
