Disability Support Pension
Youth — single independent
Equivalent to approximately $61.14 per day ($855.90 ÷ 14 days).
Independent DSP recipients aged under 21 receive $855.90 per fortnight ($61.14 per day). The independent rate applies to those who are not dependent on parents for financial support — for example, because they live away from home or have been away for an extended period. Rates are indexed in March and September each year.
Youth rates apply to DSP recipients under 21 with no dependent children. At 21 (or when no longer financially dependent), recipients transition to the adult rate.
