Disability Support Pension
Youth — single dependent (18–20)
Equivalent to approximately $47.04 per day ($658.60 ÷ 14 days).
DSP recipients aged 18–20 who remain dependent on their parents receive $658.60 per fortnight ($47.04 per day). This rate is higher than the under-18 rate and recipients transition to the independent or adult rate once they are no longer dependent or turn 21. Rates are indexed in March and September each year.
Youth rates apply to DSP recipients under 21 with no dependent children. At 21 (or when no longer financially dependent), recipients transition to the adult rate.
